For the second time this year, a Mesa toddler had to be pulled from
her backyard pool after nearly drowning, police and fire officials
said Thursday. The girl, 2, whose identity was not released, was
awake and alert, but she will be held overnight at Banner Desert
Medical Center in Mesa as a precaution, said Mesa police
spokeswoman Holly Hosac.
